La Bastide Blanche Bandol 2012
|Grenache, Mourvèdre, Syrah|
At the foot of Castellet, one of the most beautiful villages of Provence, the area extends in an amphitheater of hills dotted with Mediterranean species, and enjoys one of the sunniest climates France. Facing south-east, away from the imposing massif of Sainte Baume, it has double protection from the wind: the breezes from the nearby sea gently temper the summer heat, and the powerful blast of the mistral provides a beneficial safety.
The 28 hectares of vineyards, entirely classified AOC Bandol are located on hillsides. Plots, arranged in terraces according to ancient custom, based on an arid soil of pebbles and serious clay and limestone from the Upper Cretaceous. - Extract from Domaine la Bastide Blanche's website
