Mâconnais

France

Description

Located in the south of the Burgundy wine region, Mâconnais is famous for it's Chardonnay, it's wines are generally priced a little lower than that of the neighbouring Cote d'Or Chardonnay's which leads to the area being highly regarded as decent value for money.

Pouilly-Fuissé is perhaps the most renowned village in the region, producing dry Chardonnay, the village of Mâcon, from which Mâconnais takes it's name, is also a source of excellent whites along with St. Véran.
