The Península de Setúbal is a region located south of the Portuguese capital city of Lisbon. Península de Setúbal which was, until recently known as Terras do Sado, has a Mediterranean climate, meaning long, hot, dry summers and mild, albeit wet winters.
The terrain in this area is flat with largely sandy soils, in the south of the region lies the Serra da Arrábida mountain range, here, on the limestone soils the region's most famous wine, sweet Moscatel de Setúbal are grown
