St. Julien

France

Description

Located in the Médoc area of Bordeaux's Left Bank, St. Julien is home to a number of wines that attained the status of classified crus (Seconds, Troisièmes, Quatrièmes) in the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
The area takes it's name from the commune Saint-Julien-Beychevelle.

The ground in this part of Bordeaux is rich with gravel that gives the Cabernet Sauvignon-based red blends from this area a prevalent chocolate, cherry taste.
