Willamette Valley

United States

Description

Willamette Valley is the largest AVA located in the state of Oregon in the Pacific North West of the United States. Sandwiched between two mountain ranges, the Oregon Coast Range to the west and the Cascade Mountains to the East, Willamette Valley has a mild climate, with cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers. These cooler conditions make it a perfect candidate to grow the fickle grape that it has now become internationally renowned for, Pinot Noir.

While Pinot certainly rules the reds from this area, the whites are slightly more divided with large quantities or Chardonnay, Riesling and Pinot Gris all planted and produces very well respected wines.
